In this post, I´ll tell you how I´d spend five days in Bali. Bali is arguably one of the hottest vacation spots in the world, and a dream vacation for most people. I am very lucky to have lived in Asia for three years, where Bali was only a three hour plane ride from home. Thanks to this, I´ve had the chance to visit this idyllic island several times. I have stayed in Canggu, Seminyak, and Ubud and visited many other places on the island. I´ve also done trips to Gili Trawangan and Gili Air, which are a short ferry…

Bangkok is a massive city with a population of about 11 million people. In terms of geographic size, it´s also quite sprawling, encompassing almost 1,600 square kilometers, about half of which makes up the city itself. The implications of this for your Bangkok itinerary are that it´s important to stay centrally, to give yourself time to get around, and to plan carefully. For more on logistics and general information, check out my post, Everything You Need to Know For a Trip to Bangkok. In writing this itinerary, I´m assuming that you´ve never been to Bangkok. Most people spend little time…

This itinerary will take you through what to do for three days in Hong Kong. You might ask, is that enough? We were actually there five days in total. However, we flew very far to get there, so one day was essentially a rest day, and our fifth day was a one-night stopover on the way out of Asia, so we took it easy and didn´t make plans for that day. I think four to five days is perfect if you´re traveling from far away, and three days if you´re more local. For more about the city of Hong Kong,…

Having lived in Milan for close to a year, I have a good sense of what is worth it to do in this city. It is an often overlooked in Europe because, let’s be fair, it’s not particularly beautiful, and on the surface level, there doesn’t seem like much to see. However, if you know a little bit about the city, you realize there is plenty to see and do, and especially eat. This quick guide is full of my personal recommendations based on my experience there. This guide is good for what to do in Milan for a do…

The magical city of Merida has been on my bucket list for ages. So when my husband decided to run a half marathon there, I said, “Let’s go!”. In this post I’ll outline some of the best things to do in Merida as well as where to eat and stay. A few of the fascinating tid bits about Merida include that it is the safest city in Mexico, it’s original name in Mayan is T’ho, and it’s been heavily influenced and impacted by colonialism throughout history. You’ll see this in everything from the architecture to the food. For example, the…

Guadalajara is a large city in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, and another popular expat hub. We went to Guadalajara because my husband and close friend ran the Guadalajara half marathon, and it was such a fun trip. However, we didn’t really spend almost any time in Guadalajara itself, but rather, used it as a base to do a Tequila tour and visit Tlaquepaque, a Pueblo Magico nearby. Guadalajara is a great base to visit these two amazing destinations. A Day in Tlaquepaque On the Saturday before race day, we decided to go to Tlaquepaque. This little Pueblo Magico is…
