The Best Panini & Prosciutto in Milan

    January 13, 2024 - By megsperience

One of the best things to eat in Italy besides pasta and pizza are paninis and prosciutto, and these places have some of the best panini and prosciutto in Milan. Milan has so many good places to grab a quick panini or sit down with friends to have a large charcuterie board and several bottles of wine. This was one of my favorite things to do in Milan, and this is my list of my favorite restaurants serving panini and prosciutto in Milan. For more on food in Milan, check out my other Milan food posts: Panini de Santis ($$)…

    The Best Pasta in Milan

    January 13, 2024 - By megsperience

Obviously, if you’re in Italy, you must eat pasta. Milan itself is actually less known for pasta and more known for Risotto. However, despite that, it has a significant number of incredible pasta places, and based on my extensive research, these locations have the best pasta in Milan. It is important to know that pasta is very regional. For example, if it’s a Roman pasta restaurant, you’re unlikely to find a pesto pasta because that is from Genoa. Most restaurants will focus on a specific regional Italian cuisine. My personal favorite is Roman cuisine with it’s Cacio e Pepe, Amatriciana,…

    The Best Pizza in Milan

    January 13, 2024 - By megsperience

Based on extensive research of eating pizza over a period of 10 months in Milan, this is my personal list of the best pizza in Milan. Obviously, Napoli is the most famous place for pizza in Italy, but Milan has it’s fair share of good places. There are many types of pizza, but most of what you’ll find in Milan is either Napoli style or Roman style. Napoli style is thin-crust, and Roman style is more of a focaccia with toppings that you buy in terms of weight. Both are equally delicious in my opinion (but I’m sure Italians would…

A Tequila Tour and Tlaquepaque on a Trip to Guadalajara

    January 8, 2024 - By megsperience

Guadalajara is a large city in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, and another popular expat hub. We went to Guadalajara because my husband and close friend ran the Guadalajara half marathon, and it was such a fun trip. However, we didn’t really spend almost any time in Guadalajara itself, but rather, used it as a base to do a Tequila tour and visit Tlaquepaque, a Pueblo Magico nearby. Guadalajara is a great base to visit these two amazing destinations. A Day in Tlaquepaque On the Saturday before race day, we decided to go to Tlaquepaque. This little Pueblo Magico is…

Guide to a Weekend in La Paz, Baja California Sur

    January 5, 2024 - By megsperience

La Paz, Baja California Sur is one of the lesser known towns in Baja California Sur in comparison to Cabos, or even Todos Santos these days. We chose to spend a weekend in La Paz to explore the area, and it was a great choice. While the town doesn’t have a ton to offer, it’s quiet and close to the main attractions – which are mainly outdoor adventures. Baja California is one of my absolute favorite places in Mexico, and somewhere I see myself going back to and exploring again and again. It also happens to be where my husband…

A Christmas Weekend in Puebla, Mexico

    December 29, 2023 - By megsperience

For the past two years, my husband and I have debated what to do for Christmas. He cannot go to the U.S. because we are waiting for his green card, and the flights to Colombia around Christmas are expensive. So last year, we spent the weekend in San Miguel de Allende – see the post A Weekend in San Miguel de Allende – and this year, we decided to spent Christmas weekend in Puebla, Mexico. Only about two and a half hours by car or bus from Mexico City, Puebla is a large city that feels like a town. The…
