Mother´s Day Gift Ideas for Every Type of Mom

Mother´s Day is around the corner, and I don´t know about you, but I always need Mother´s Day gift ideas. If you have a new mom on your list, I guarantee you there is something she needs to make her life easier. And for any other Moms who travel, there are some great items on the market that can help make travel easier, smoother, and more comfortable. Here are some ideas from my personal ¨can´t travel without it¨ list and also some new ideas!

For the New Mom

I have been doing a ton of research on this topic because I am in my 30s, and this is the time of my life when many people are having babies. One thing I´ve learned is that babies travel with a lot of stuff! A few Mother´s Day gift ideas my mom friends have recommended – whether traveling around the block or on a plane – include:

  • Hatch Rest Go Mother´s Day Gift Ideas
  • Guava Lotus Crib Mother´s Day Gift Ideas
  • Amacool Fan
  • Ubbi Gift Set - Mother´s Day Mother´s Day Gift Ideas
  • Zoe Traveler Stroller Mother´s Day Gift Ideas

For the Mom on a Solo or Girl´s Trip

For a mom traveling without her kids, there are a few essentials I recommend based on my personal travels. This is a mom unencumbered for the first time in recent memory, so let´s make her life even easier. I can´t travel without the Away Bigger Carry On and I think it´s a great gift. Packing cubes are also a travel lifesaver. I love mine, and they´re notoriously discontinued, but I´ve recommended Taskin Compression Packing Cubes before, which are a great option. One non-negotiable for me is a clean side and a laundry side for packing cubes. It is life changing. Another great bag for a short trip is anything from Lo and Sons. The Lo & Sons duffel bag is very similar to one I have that´s great for an overnight trip.

For the Mom Who Needs Self-Care

Pretty much every mom I´ve met could use a little more self-care, and self-care is one of my favorite things. I have gifted my mom the Shiseido Retinol eye masks that she would never buy for herself and now she is a big Shiseido fan. I also love them. The NuFace mini or the NuFace Trinity+ (I have this one) make a great gift for at-home spa treatment. For the sporty mom, the Theragun is a great gift – my husband and I both use ours. There´s also a Theragun Mini for travel.

For the Low-Tech or the High-Tech Mom

I got both my parents Airpods for Christmas one year, and I think it has been my most successful gift to date. Neither of my parents are particularly easy to shop for or techy, but they both love their Airpods. I personally cannot live without the 2nd generation Airpod Pro sound cancellation feature on planes. It helps me sleep, and it blocks out the ¨shushing¨ sound of the plane. They´re also relatively affordable and compact compared to other sound cancellation headphones out there! It´s a bang for your buck in my opinion. My mom has also put hers through the wash machine at least five times and they still work.

Other low-tech gifts I always recommend include the Amazon Kindle and a portable phone charger. There is nothing like a good book on a plane. I can´t travel without my Kindle. A portable phone charger is also a must-have item. Not every plane has outlets in all seats, and sometimes they don´t work. It´s also a more secure way to charge your phone.

  • Kindle Paperwhite
  • Portable Phone Charger
