Having lived in Milan for close to a year, I have a good sense of what is worth it to do in this city. It is an often overlooked in Europe because, let’s be fair, it’s not particularly beautiful, and on the surface level, there doesn’t seem like much to see. However, if you know a little bit about the city, you realize there is plenty to see and do, and especially eat. This quick guide is full of my personal recommendations based on my experience there. This guide is good for what to do in Milan for a do for up to what to do in Milan for three days. It all depends how much you want to pack in!
Where to Stay
See my post on The Best Neighborhoods in Milan for details. Every neighborhood has a slightly different vibe and energy. If you’re going for the first time (or even a second or third time), you will likely still want to stay centrally. The good thing about this city is that it’s small, so nothing is really that far away. My recommendations would be:
- Brera
- Sempione/Castello Sforzesco
- Porta Giribaldi
What to See
- The Duomo
- The Galleria
- Navigli Canal
- Brera Neighborhood – Corso Giribaldi
- Via Monte Napoleone (luxury shopping)
